Iris is nominated for the "ignition cube

The die is cast! After a nomination phase lasting several months and numerous proposals received, the finalists of the 2nd Zurich Sports Promotion Award "zündwürfel" have been decided.

Among the finalists is also Iris Buser, which was registered by the TTZ board.

"Visionary", "valuable for youth development" or "a coming together beyond village borders": the nominations received for this year's "zündwürfel" award were not stingy with superlatives. Now an independent jury consisting of representatives from sport, business and politics has decided which clubs, volunteers and fan clubs should be honoured for their valuable commitment to grassroots and club sport in Zurich.

In the category "Sports Club" FC Kloten, the Zurich Crickets Cricket Club and the Zurich Rugby Academy made it to the final. All three clubs impressed with their activities in grassroots sports in Zurich, be it through their promotion of youth, integration of members or innovative ideas. The trophy night in mid-April will determine who will win this category and thus succeed the Schützengesellschaft Hombrechtikon (winner in 2022).

The jury was also convinced by the six finalists in the category of "Fan World"The fan groups of FC Herrliberg, EHC Wetzikon, FC Seefeld, HC Rychenberg Winterthur, Pfadi Winterthur Handball and the supporters of the youth and top teams of EHC Kloten will not only compete for the "zündwürfel" trophy, but will also provide plenty of atmosphere on cup night.

In addition, there are six "Volunteers" from different regions of the canton, who will be awarded and celebrated at the ceremony for their valuable voluntary activities in their clubs and associations.

A very special night
Preparations are currently in full swing for the second edition of the "zündwürfel" sponsorship award, which was launched by the Zurich Cantonal Association for Sport (ZKS) and the sports sponsorship vehicle Sportdate. Finally, at the 14 April 2023 in the AXA-ARENA all finalists will be in the spotlight and the celebration of Zurich club sport will be in the foreground. Accordingly, the Cup Night will be framed by captivating show, game and entertainment elements as well as well-known sports personalities as presenters. The programme will be hosted by Regula Späni, TV presenter and multiple Swiss swimming champion. The entire award ceremony will also be recorded and broadcast as a TV programme.
